a random thought on food waste

This week I have been reading Waste: Uncovering the Global Food Scandal by Tristram Stuart (you can see his ted talk over on this post) - it is blowing my mind.

I love that guy.

Here is my one thing to think about:

"The gratuitous sacrificing of others' most essential requirements to fill rubbish bins with food should surely become, in time, socially unacceptable. In that all of us in the affluent world deprive others of food necessary for survival, often for the most whimsical motives such as filling our fridges with food we never eat, it is difficult to escape from the idea that in this remote, indirect and ignorance-muffled way, I, you, and everyone you know, behave murderously towards fellow humans"
