okay - i know this sounds a little wild, but it is seriously my favourite raw juice of all time.
there is a raw juice place in calgary that made a version of this they called FALL GUY and the first time i had a sip, i was hooked. but unfortunately, fall guy is only available in the fall. so every once in awhile i try to recreate it in my kitchen, and i think you should too.
as a reminder: i don't have a juicer. if you do, this recipe should be pretty easy for you. just juice the vegetables and then add the spices and you should be good to go.
i, on the other hand, use my vitamix + some water when i make raw juice. i'm assuming this is difficult to do in a regular old blender - but i hear magic bullets are pretty awesome these days, so if that's all you have, you should still give it a shot. if you'd like to use the vitamix, check out this post for more detailed directions.
i'll give you the instructions I used for my vitamix. here it goes:
to your vitamix, add:
- ~5 regular sized organic carrots
- half an organic apple
- 1 inch fresh, peeled organic ginger
- ~ 1/4 of raw organic sweet potato (just estimate)
- 3/4 cup cold filtered water
- a sprinkle of cinnamon
- a sprinkle of nutmeg
- a sprinkle of vanilla
blend on high for 1-2 minutes.
pour into a bowl via a nut milk bag, gently squeeze until all of the liquid is in the bowl, and the pulp is in the bag.
pour the juice (the liquid in the bowl) into a glass and voila. your very own fall guy.
