Power balls are one of my favourite snacks: super easy quick fuel. They are so simple to make and a whole lot better (& cheaper!) then grocery store energy bars.
If you google "energy bites" you can find about a million recipes for these things on the internet. You can make Spiced Ginger Pear Energy Bites, Peanut Butter and Jelly Energy Bites, Nutella Sea Salt Energy Bites...seriously there are so many.
I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with these kinds of things. But just in case you wanted one more recipe, here you go :)
To a dry vitamix add:
- 1/2 cup hemp hearts
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes
- 1/2 cup macadamia nuts
- 1/2 cup walnuts
Pulse to combine.
- 5 pitted soft medjool dates
- 1/2 cup dried cherries (unsweetened)
to the wet vitamix. Pulse for a minute or two until mashed.
- 1/4 cup brown rice protein
- a generous sprinkle of malden sea salt
- a pinch of vanilla powder
to the date & cherry mixture and pulse until well incorporated.
Pour the contents of both the dry & wet vitamix containers into a bowl along with a small handful of cacao nibs.
Mash all of the ingredients together by hand (you need to get in there and fully incorporate them, don't be afraid to get aggressive).
Roll into balls and store in the freezer.
